We are a passive people, we always have been. We complain amonst ourselves, some vocalize their issues in "Letters to the Editor" columns in the local newspapers and many of us comment on media websites. The result? Nada! Nothing! Whatever will be will be! Be it the Liberals, Conservatives or New Democrats they all do what they want, when they want with our hard earned money. Are you happy with this?
Rather than sporatic protest we need to unify with a single common cause - Make Canada Affordable Again!
It's Not That Difficult
We need to lower costs to businesses who want to expand or are willing to open in our country. We need to reduce taxes on business, reduce utility costs and regulations that directly affect manufacturing costs. Let business know that we need and want them in our cities.
Give the average working person a break on taxes, housing (make mortgage interest deductable), and eliminate the tax on Services so Canadians can invest in their homes, vehicles and other services. Why does the government need to get $80.00 when the plumber fixes a leak in my faucet? The same plumber thats already paying income tax and HST on the tools and supplies he's using to do the work?
Our First Priority should be Canada, Canadians and others that call Canada home. It looks good on the international stage to be compasionate and generous but we do this to the detrement of people in Canada that have real needs. Once we fix our homeless problem with affordable housing, close the foodbanks and have a health system that is responsive and effective then we can spend that $5.2 billion elsewhere.
